You may think this delightful pixie is a character from a children’s picture book, but this is actually Ame Dyckman, author of Tea Party Rules. This photo captures her true persona and her larger-than-life personality.

Tea Party Rules is illustrated by K.G. Campbell (winner of the 2013 Golden Kite Award for his own book Lester’s Dreadful Sweaters). The dynamic duo was recognized at the 2014 Fay B. Kaigler Children’s Book Festival by the EzraJack Keats Foundation. Ame won the New Writer Award and K.G. won the New Illustrator Honor. Not too shabby!

Don't they look like old friends?

Ame’s first picture book was Boy + BOT, a story about two friends who are very different from each other. It was praised by Booklist, Kirkus Reviews, Publishers Weekly, and The New York Times Book Review. Click here to view the trailer on Ame’s website!

But wait, there’s more! Wolfie the Bunny is scheduled for release in 2015 followed by Horrible Bear in 2016. Both books illustrated by Zachariah OHara.

It appears that Ame is just getting warmed up as a flourishing children’s book writer. No doubt we can expect more fun titles from her in the near future. Professor Storytime will be on the lookout for what else Ame has in store for her readers!
